Angela Bruns is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan Population Studies Center. She received a PhD in Sociology from the University of Washington in 2017 and an MEd in Social Justice Education from the University of Massachusetts in 2008.

Her research investigates the consequences of social and structural inequality for women and their families. Current projects examine how women manage the financial hardships associated with the imprisonment of their romantic partners, how the conditions of low wage workers’ jobs influence work-family balance, and the relationship between adolescents’ exposure to single-parent families and their attitudes toward marriage.
